Someone, somewhere decided that 200 hours was the number of training hours required to become a yoga teacher.
Based upon experience, NWA Yoga School has broken-up the required standard 200 hours of teacher training by most studios into two modules for a total of 250 hours over a full calendar year experience.
These modules are uniquely designed to maximize the trainee/student experience and to best equip them on their journey as a yoga teacher.
MODULE 1 – Calling 11-Journey into Power
2019 Module 1 Full & Already in Session
2020 Module 1 start date: March 28, 2020

Module 2 – Absolute Transformation & Asana for Everybody
This module is designed and created for the yogi that wants to learn much more about the Asanas information about the most commonly used yoga poses about and transform their life. It’s perfect for the person that may or may not want to teach and or may not know if they want to teach yoga. Most of our graduates from this training experience clarity with this spiritually packed experience. Two very different experiences are included in this training; Vipassana Mediation & Yoga on the Mountain Retreat Weekends.
If you want to deepen or develop a daily mediation practice, this training features a 24-hour of “sits” in a guided Vipassana mediation – this is scheduled three-weeks into this module and proper training is provided to help properly prepare the non-mediators.
As Scott Pitts, our school founder, states about this weekend, “a wise first-time marathoner who wants to run a 26.2 marathon will participate in a marathon training program before attempting their first marathon, the mediation weekend is our marathon and is successfully completed with the proper guidance and training and with the correct props for your body. Most of our recent graduates have never attempted anything like this before and are now daily meditators!”
A completely different experience in this module is participating Yoga on the Mountain Retreat at Mt. Magazine, Arkansas hosted by the dynamic Power Yoga Retreats with the entire class of trainees. FUN! FUN! FUN!!! YOGA ON THE MOUNTAIN
From one of our graduates “An awesome weekend experience I will cherish the rest of my life in an amazing setting – I’m a native of Arkansas and have never experienced Mt. Magazine.”
The cornerstone of the module is the Asana For Everybody written by the school founder, Scott Pitts. “I wrote Asana for Everybody to provide a user friendly text book for future teachers & yogis that features key benefits, body alignment, three main basic anatomical areas used, the modifications, and contraindications for each pose – simply illustrated on one-page per pose. Typically up to 6 books required for this information previously.”
