Class Descriptions: All Classes All Levels

Yoga 101- Perfect for anyone who is new to yoga, Yoga 101 provides a solid foundation in the essential yoga poses. Done in a 71 F degree room (not hot). This is a perfect class for beginners.

LSD/Long Slow Deep- Long, slow and deep stretches will take your body to the next level of release, and will help you find balance, stability and flexibility. The entire class involves holding seated postures for a bit longer, releasing muscle tension.

Yin- focuses on the connective tissues of the body through postures that are held in stillness and mindful awareness for several minutes at a time. A perfect complement to more yang styles of exercise (such as flow yoga, running, skiing or biking), Yin Yoga addresses tightness and toxin buildup in the joints and connective tissue through poses that are equally challenging for the mind and body. The result is not only more lubricated and flexible joints, but also a greater sense of balance, peace, and calm. Props make the practice accessible to people of all abilities. This is an all levels class, appropriate for beginners and those new to yoga.

Long Slow Flow/Restorative-This all-level class is 60 minutes of mindfully transitioning asanas meant to release stress and build body-mind-spirit awareness. An exploratory warm-up is followed by flowing asanas that dive deep into your embodied experience. Holding postures that cover the entire body, and focusing on the breath which will help to create a supple and toned body. This class is soft and smooth but always challenging. Ending with a 20-30 minute restorative yoga practice. This is an all levels class, appropriate for beginners and those new to yoga.

Vinyasa Flow- Vinyasa means connecting movement with breath. A style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. Commonly referred to as “flow” yoga, it is sometimes confused with “ power yoga “. Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike.

Power Flow- a unique style of yoga where postures are linked together in a continuous, challenging and creative flow that combines strength and flexibility while toning the body and clearing the mind. Students are encouraged to move at their own pace with intention and to listen to their body as they explore their own edge and discover inner strength. These classes are in a warm room and set to upbeat, thoughtful music. Power Vinyasa is a dynamic and energetic Vinyasa class that synchronizes breath with movement.

Hot Hatha: Because Hatha yoga’s pace is slow and gentle, it is an ideal starting place for people who are new to yoga. One of the more challenging aspects of a yoga practice is combining movements with breathing control, or pranayama; a slow pace assists newcomers in moving correctly with the breath according to Hatha principles.
